Kitchener-Waterloo Parents of Multiples Association (KW POMBA) is a non-profit organization that provides support to local families with multiples (twins, triplets and more). We support families in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph and surrounding areas.

KW POMBA was founded in 1977 when a local doctor introduced two families with infant twins. The two mothers saw the potential for support for parents of multiples and invited several acquaintances to form a small group of mothers with twins. Most of the women had children less than two years of age and in the beginning they met monthly at the President’s house for coffee, emotional support and trading of stories and equipment. Those members with preschoolers became the “experts”, helping the harried moms of infants with hints and coping skills.

Over 40 Years later, KW POMBA is still a support to families with multiples and is thankful to everyone who helped one another and our organization along the way.

Our Mission:
To provide guidance, support and encouragement to families and expectant families of multiples. We aim to connect our members with each other, and with relevant resources in our community so they can better enjoy their unique parenting experiences. We are a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization, and a proud chapter of Multiple Births Canada.
